3D Input presents the next generation of 3D human-machine interfaces in the DLR sector at the world’s leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics (hall B4 / stand no. 321) .
Several demos were shown, including the DLR Sara robot, which was controlled once again, and a virtual work cell that could be dynamically reconfigured and operated using the 3D input device. This demo was carried out using the same tablet interface with a switch function from Cartesian control to virtual configuration.
Furthermore, a 3D input was demonstrated on the DLR EDAN wheelchair, where a person with reduced mobility was able to control a robotic arm manipulator.

The company is pleased to announce that Dr. Tim Bodenmüller has joined as the new Head of the Software Division. In addition to leading the department, Dr. Bodenmüller is also joining the company as a co-partner.

On the robot island at the DLR stand @HMI 22. – 26. April 2024, we present our new controllers connected with an innovative novel, highly dynamic and sensitive DLR robot SARA. DLR stand in Hall 13, Stand D62.

Intelligent, digitally networked robots will play a key role in the production of the future. Visitors to the DLR stand can experience a flexible robot workstation live. At its heart is a lightweight robotic arm that independently positions components and devices in the workspace and selects the appropriate tools. In addition, the spin-off company 3D Input will present miniaturised technology for innovative human-machine interfaces. The compact sensor unit can also be integrated into mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

New Managing Director Dr. Armin Wedler

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed our co-founder Armin Wedler as our new Managing Director. Armin has been with us from the beginning and previously worked more in the background. From now on, he will take over the management of the company alongside Dr. Josef Reill.

The Reality is 3D!

We develop miniaturized 3D sensors. Our applications range from consumer electronics to industrial applications. The key technology is a human-machine interfaces with 6 DOF input devices and special sensors.

With the new miniaturized 3D sensor, we offer customers the possibility to integrate a full 3D input device into their products. This targets product groups that in the past – due to the size of existing 3D input devices – were out of the question. These include, for example, cell phones, tablets, navigation devices, game controllers and many more as possible product carriers. 3D-Input GmbH offers all necessary development competences for this purpose.
